Old
& In the Way: The Boarding House
recorded 16 April 1973
Short
lived bluegrass super group recorded at The Boarding House, San Francisco,
on Monday April 16th 1973 and broadcast by WBAI-FM. Bridging the divide
between traditional & progressive bluegrass the bands interplay soars
throughout the entire set. The band's original fiddle player Richard Greene
is on fire, as is Jerry Garcia whose lightning banjo runs have never been
heard better. Highlights include a defining interpretation of the Stones
Wild Horses and Peter Rowan's Panama Red.
